
Key tourism stakeholders and Iloilo Provincial Government (IPG) officials gathered today at the Capitol to develop strategies aimed at enhancing the arrival and departure experience at the Iloilo International Airport.
Discussions centered on developing strategies that integrate Iloilo’s rich heritage, local flavors, and signature hospitality into the airport environment.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships between tourism authorities, airport management, transport providers, local businesses, and cultural organizations to facilitate the implementation of sustainable improvements that will elevate the Iloilo airport experience and contribute to the province’s growing tourism sector.
The meeting was presided Provincial Administrator Raul Banias.
Participants included DOT6 Regional Director Crisanta Marlene Rodriguez, Iloilo City Councilor Atty. Romel Duron, CAAP Head Engr. Eusebio Monserate Jr., Iloilo Airport Terminal Supervisor Arthur Parreño, IHRRA President Mary Ann Matiling, GRAB Visayas representative PJ Bailon, NEDA Senior Economic Development Specialist August Melody Andong, and Provincial Culture, Arts, History and Tourism Office - Province of Iloilo Chief Gilbert Marin, along with other representatives from public and private sectors.
By improving the Iloilo International Airport experience, the IPG aims to strengthen Iloilo’s position as a world-class tourist destination.
