The Arnis team of Cabatuan which represented Western Visayas in the recent Palarong Pambansa 2024 visited the Office of Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. this morning.
The team composed of students from Cabatuan Central Elementary School and Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School won as champion in both elementary and secondary Arnis events hauling a total of seven gold medals.
Kyle Angelo Tiron got the distinction of most bemedalled Arnis player in the secondary level with five gold medals.
Taekwondo gold medalist Rommel Kevin Bacas, who is also from Cabatuan Central Elementary School, joined the group.
They were accompanied by Cabatuan Mayor Elizalde Pueyo, who is very proud of the kids' achievements, together with coach Mike Banguiran and trainer Ryan Robles.
Governor Defensor's executive assistants Freda Sabanal-Fajardo and Marmel Caldera welcomed the team on behalf of the governor.
