Barotac Nuevo Steals The Championship From Santa Barbara After Penalty Drama

BAROTAC NUEVO STEALS THE CHAMPIONSHIP FROM SANTA BARBARA AFTER PENALTY DRAMA

Barotac Nuevo and Santa Barbara played a very close and exciting championship match in the 2026 Developmental League Football Tournament.

The first half ended 0–0, with both teams creating chances but unable to score. Barotac Nuevo had several attempts, but Santa Barbara defended well. Santa Barbara also tried to attack and earned free kicks, but Barotac Nuevo’s defense stayed strong.

In the second half, Barotac Nuevo scored first through No. 13 Nathan Howard Caligdong, who converted a free kick into a goal, making it 1–0.

Santa Barbara quickly responded in the 57th minute when No. 15 Stello Siloterio scored to level the game at 1–1.

The match went into extra time after both teams continued to fight hard. In extra time, Santa Barbara took the lead again with another goal from Siloterio using a chip shot, making it 2–1.

But Barotac Nuevo fought back once more, with Caligdong scoring again to tie the game at 2–2.

Since the match was still tied after extra time, it went to a penalty shootout. Barotac Nuevo eventually won the shootout, ending Santa Barbara’s four-year championship streak.

It was a hard-fought match, but Barotac Nuevo showed composure in penalties to finally claim the championship.
