Anilao Vice Mayor Ma. Theresa Debuque, along with Iloilo Sports Development and Management Office (ISDMO) head Dr. Janelyn Fundal and her assistant Ray Cabarles, accompanied the Anilao Central School Baseball Team which represented Western Visayas in the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa 2024 in their courtesy call to Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. this morning.
The team grabbed the championship crown in the elementary baseball event.
Aside from the championship, the team also garnered the following individual awards: Most Valuable Player, Home Run King and Most Stolen Bases - Jonas Dionela and Best Pitcher – Kim Cupan.
Also present were the team’s coach Art Ansino, assistant coach Ruby Joy Pama and Trainer Remond Diño.
The team members and their coaches will receive cash incentives from the Iloilo Provincial Government under Provincial Ordinance 2000-217.
Under the ordinance, each player and their coach will receive P8,000. The assistant coach will receive P5,000; the trainer to receive P3,000; and the player’s chaperones to receive P3,000 each.
Governor Arthur Defensor thanked the Anilao Central School Baseball Team for doing their best in the Palarong Pambansa 2024 and for bringing honour to the Province of Iloilo and Western Visayas.
