Nicolas Torre III, former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief and now General Manager and spokesperson of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), paid a courtesy visit to Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. today at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
Torre is in Iloilo to join this weekend's festivities, underscoring his continued ties with Iloilo. He is widely regarded as a “full-blooded Ilonggo,” tracing his roots to Tigbauan through his father, Rodolfo “Dolping” Molarto Torre, and to Dumangas through his mother, Julia Deloso of the prominent Deloso clan.
Born on March 11, 1970, in Jolo, Sulu, Torre was raised in Mindanao while his father served with the Philippine Constabulary.
He previously served as the 31st Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
