Major General Michael T. Samson, Commanding General of the Third Infantry (Spearhead) Division of the Philippine Army, was honored with resolutions of commendation from the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC), and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Iloilo during this morning’s flag-raising ceremony at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol grounds.
The commendations recognized MGen. Samson’s exemplary leadership and his significant contributions to sustaining peace, order, and security in the region.
MGen. Samson is set to retire on July 15, 2026, after more than three decades of distinguished military service.
Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. expressed gratitude for MGen. Samson’s steadfast support to the province, recalling his dedicated service from his tenure as commander of the 301st Infantry Brigade up to his leadership of the 3ID. The Governor highlighted the strong partnership fostered between the Armed Forces of the Philippines, under MGen. Samson’s command, and local stakeholders.
Joining Gov. Defensor in giving the commendations to MGen. Samson are Fourth District Board Member Rolando Distura, Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government, and members of the PPOC.
