The Office of the Local Youth Development Officer of Iloilo Province organized the first-ever BIDA Kabataang Ilonggo: Iloilo Provincial Youth Convergence at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel on June 2.
More than 200 delegates from across the province attended the event, representing various youth organizations, Local Youth Development Officers, Sangguniang Kabataan officials, student government bodies, and youth leaders.
National Youth Commission Visayas Commissioner Asec. Joaquin Carlo “Wacky” Racho served as the keynote speaker and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving meaningful progress in communities.
"We ask you to truly collaborate with one another. Collaboration is the key to progress, not competition," Racho said.
Meanwhile, student leaders Kevyn and Kristoff shared that the convergence inspired them to further strengthen their commitment to public service through networking and collaboration with fellow young leaders.
"This platform will serves as one of our strength, na ma motivate pa gid ang kada kabataan sa probinsiya sang Iloilo nga mag serbisyo," Kevyn said.
Kristoff added that the event provided an opportunity to build new friendships and partnerships among youth leaders.
"We are expecting that we could meet new friends so that ma enhance pa gid ang collaboration with each other," he said.
