The Municipality of Alimodian is joining the list of towns that were chosen as recipients of the Teen Center 2.0 infrastructure project of the Iloilo provincial government.
Through the Iloilo Provincial Population Office, the provincial government is constructing a teen center facility at Alimodian National Comprehensive High School.
The project broke ground on February 24, 2025 led by Governor Defensor. He was joined by Mayor Ian Kenneth Alfeche, Mayor Lee Ann Debuque who represented the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, Provincial Population Officer Atty. Ruel Von Superio, Provincial Engineer Romeo Andig, and Principal Romar Cubin. Iloilo Police Provincial Office Director Bayani Razalan also graced the activity.
The Teen Center Version 2.0 is flagship project of the Iloilo Provincial Government, anchored to the development mantra of Governor Defensor known as MoRProGRes Iloilo or A Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally Competitive and Resilient Province of Iloilo.
Atty. Superio said the teen center is more than just a structure but a collective pledge to provide a safe, nurturing, and empowering space for the youth.
“It will be a place where students can engage, learn, seek guidance, and build lasting friendships. It will be a haven where they can develop their personality, talents, skills, and a sanctuary to enhance their well-being, and prepare themselves for the challenges and triumphs of the future,” Superio said.
Governor Defensor stressed that the teen center is equally important as classrooms as it is a crucial facility for the total development of the youth.
“That completes what we don’t teach inside the classroom. The things that are important in your total development, you will find them there. That is why you have to take care of that facility,” Defensor said.
The governor also committed to allot more fund for the repair of dilapidated classrooms at Alimodian National Comprehensive High School.
Defensor added that under his BES Probins or the Bulig Eskwela sang Probinsya program, the provincial government will continue to build more classrooms, especially in schools located in far-flung barangays, as part of his infrastructure support to public schools.
Mayor Alfeche thanked Governor Defensor for pouring in millions of projects to Alimodian, leading to the improved quality of life of the residents. (Capitol News)
