Disaster-stricken families in Barangay Cag-an, Anilao will soon have a safer place to seek refuge during emergencies after the Iloilo provincial government allotted P6 million for the construction of a barangay evacuation center.
The assistance was formally turned over by Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. to Punong Barangay Amalia Victoria Debuque as part of the provincial government’s continuing disaster preparedness, mitigation, and response initiatives.
The project aims to provide residents with a reliable shelter during typhoons, floods, and other emergencies, especially during calamities that often displace vulnerable families.
