The Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office - Energy Efficiency and Conservation Desk headed by Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle P. Buyco, Jr. released P3.2 million to the municipality of Leganes for the installation of a 60 kW Grid-Tie Rooftop Solar PV at their commercial complex.
The amount is sourced from Gov. Arthur Defensor’s renewable energy subsidy fund.
The cheque was received by Leganes Municipal Administrator David Israel Sinay as facilitated by EEC Desk OIC-head Rey Victor Garin and Project Development Assistant Leiden Lyka V. Anonoy.
The RE fund transfer serves as a financial aid to local government units for the completion of their proposed renewable energy projects – a main component to ensure compliance with the Government Energy Management Program under Republic Act 11285 known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act of 2019.
