
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. led the turning over of the water system project to Cabalic National High School in the municipality of Balasan.
With him are Balasan Mayor Filomeno Ganzon, Vice Mayor Manuel Ganzon, municipal and barangay officials, Iloilo Provincial Engineer's Office chief Romeo Andig, Anilao Mayor Lee Ann Debuque who represented the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, Head Teacher I Rosie Aribal, and representatives from the DepEd Schools Division of Iloilo, among others.
Also present is Provincial Population Officer Atty. Ruel Von Superio who joined the governor in the inauguration of the CABALICatan Teen Center 2.0.
This water system project is expected to enhance hygiene and sanitation for 498 students, faculty, and staff of the school as well as reduce the incidents of waterborne diseases.
This project aligns with the social justice agenda of Governor Defensor under his development mantra MoRProGRes Iloilo which is to provide clean and potable water for the Ilonggos.
It is funded through the Provincial School Board’s Special Education Fund amounting to amounting to P882,405.61 and is implemented through the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program.
