The Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) headed by Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle P. Buyco, Jr. released P3.2 million to the municipality of Alimodian for the installation of a 60 kW Grid-Tie Rooftop Solar PV System at their Municipal Hall.
The amount is sourced from Gov. Arthur Defensor’s renewable energy subsidy fund. The check was received by Alimodian Municipal Mayor Ian Kenneth A. Alfeche, Municipal Treasurer Cecilia Paolo C. Felipe and EEC Focal Person Lovely Almonares as facilitated by PGENRO-EEC Desk representatives Rey Victor Garin and Leiden Lyka V. Anonoy.
The RE fund transfer serves as a financial aid to local government units for the completion of their proposed renewable energy projects – a main component to ensure compliance with the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) under Republic Act 11285 known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act of 2019.
