While others are slowing down for the Holidays, the Iloilo provincial government is working double-time to complete vital community infrastructure projects in barangays and municipalities.
Today, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. inaugurated two multi-purpose gyms amounting to P3.5 million each in barangays Buga and Kinagdan in the municipality of Igbaras.
This facility will provide a space for sports and cultural activities and will also serve as an evacuation center during disasters.
Juan Escalona Sr., 69 years old and a resident of Barangay Buga, thanked Governor Defensor for providing them with a facility that will benefit thousands of residents in the barangay.
“Dugay-dugay na nga tinuig nga wara gid kami sang covered gym. Salamat gid kay Governor kay gintaw-an na covered gym ang Buga,” Escalona said.
Aside from the covered gyms, the provincial government also inaugurated its first-ever completed Family and Youth Development Center (FYDC) constructed in the municipality of Igbaras.
Indeed, Christmas came a bit early for the people of Igbarasnons.
More infrastructure projects are in the pipeline for completion for various municipalities in 2026.
