The Iloilo Provincial Government (IPG), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Program, hosted a benchmark visit by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region II to showcase its best practices in gender mainstreaming and women’s economic empowerment (WEE).
IPG officials presented how gender-responsive policies are integrated into disaster risk reduction, development planning, and frontline services, ensuring inclusive and people-centered programs. Provincial GADIloilo Focal Person Mariel Loredo, LEDIP Center Iloilo Province’s Ms. Luna Bela-ong, and PDRRMO-Iloilo’s Mr. Everick Paul Bedonia shared initiatives that help women access sustainable livelihoods and strengthen community resilience.
The visit concluded with an exchange of ideas to further improve GAD mainstreaming, with the OCD delegation thanking the Provincial Government for its openness and support.
