ILOILO PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT DISTRIBUTES MOSQUITO NETS TO WVRAA DELEGATES FOR DENGUE PREVENTION

The Iloilo Provincial Government through the Iloilo Provincial Health Office (PHO) and in coordination with the Health and Nutrition Cluster of DepEd Schools Division of Iloilo, has distributed mosquito nets to delegates of the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet.

With the rise in dengue cases across the region, this initiative underscores the province’s commitment to athlete safety by ensuring that participants have additional protection against mosquito bites.

Delegates are also advised to take preventive measures, such as using mosquito repellents, wearing light-colored long-sleeved clothing, and avoiding mosquito-prone areas during peak biting hours (6 AM – 9 AM & 4 PM – 6 PM).

Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. has called on local government units (LGUs) to provide medical support to their athletes, ensuring that health remains a top priority alongside athletic excellence.

This effort is part of the Iloilo Provincial Government’s broader health and safety initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to the well-being of student-athletes representing the province in regional and national competitions.
