ILOILO PGADC TRAINS NEW OTON EMPLOYEES ON GENDER SENSITIVITY

The Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Provincial Gender and Development Council – Technical Working Group (PGADC-TWG) GADIloilo, extended technical assistance on Gender Sensitivity to newly hired employees of the Municipality of Oton on July 3, 2025, at Sheridan Boutique Resort, Brgy. Buray, Oton.

This initiative underscores the province’s commitment to empowering LGUs in integrating gender and development principles in local governance. It also ensures that frontline workers are equipped with the right mindset and knowledge to deliver inclusive and respectful public service.

Ms. Mary Ann Llauderes of the PGADC-TWG introduced the participants to Basic GAD Concepts, laying a foundation for understanding gender roles, equality, and empowerment in government work. Ms. Leonor Orchid Andoloy followed with a discussion on pressing gender issues that affect service delivery, while Ms. Mariel Fleur Loredo highlighted the salient features of the Magna Carta of Women, the landmark law protecting and promoting women's rights.

The orientation aims to mainstream GAD advocacy in public offices and create a safe, responsive, and gender-fair environment for both employees and clients.
