Iloilo is among the 17 provinces in the country that were chosen as pilot areas for the implementation of the World Bank’s Health System Resilience Project (HSRP).
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Maria Socorro Quiñon attended the inaugural launch of the HSRP today, December 1, 2025 at Royce Hotel, Pampanga, affirming Iloilo’s support to a resilient health system towards the realization of Universal Health Care for every Ilonggo.
This five-year project which will be implemented until 2030 aims to improve access to a climate-resilient provincial health system.
The HSRP specifically targets to improve the utilization and quality of health services, and enhance health emergency prevention, preparedness, and response at the provincial level.
Other recipient LGUs are Isabela, Masbate, Sorsogon, Bohol, Leyte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Agusan del Sur, Maguindanao del Sur, and Maguindanao del Norte.
