CAPITOL UPGRADED LACTATION ROOM NOW READY TO SERVE BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS

The Iloilo provincial government supports the breastfeeding journey of mothers and ensures that they have a designated area for feeding their babies.

The establishment of a Lactation Room is in compliance with Republic Act No. 10028 or The Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009.

The upgraded Lactation Room located at the 2nd floor of the Casa Real de Iloilo offers a safe, private, and hygienic space for breastfeeding employees and transacting clients of the Iloilo provincial government.

It is equipped with a two-seater sofa, outlets for electric breast pumps, refrigerator for breast beast storage, sanitation facilities, a clean flat surface for placing breastfeeding essentials, and an adequate lighting and ventilation.

It is accessible during regular working hours from 8AM to 5PM. Prior appointment is advised as the room could only accommodate up to two clients simultaneously. Kindly coordinate with the Provincial Health Office for reservation.

Capitol employees wishing to use the lactation room should inform their immediate supervisor to ensure that it is within reasonable time and does that disrupt their work.

Moreover, there will be an assigned counselor or healthcare worker to offer support and guidance to mothers for their breastfeeding challenges and provide referrals if necessary.
