IPG PGENRO CONDUCTS ENERGY 101 1

The Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office, together with implementing partners Central Philippine University and USAID, through the Energy Knowledge and Empowerment for Western Visayas (EKEWV), conducted the Energy 101-1: Power Infrastructure in Panay and its Challenges lecture on April 22, 2024 at the Casa Real de Iloilo Grand Social Hall.

The event was the first out of the four Energy-101 lectures series and also coincided with the celebration of Earth Day 2024.

Board Member Rolando “Rolly” Distura gave his opening remarks followed by the giving of the rationale of the activity by Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) focal Mr. Rey Garin.

EKEWV Project Assistant Leader Engr. Caesar Rico S. Acanto gave his lecture on basic electrical units, power and energy, the complex power triangle, the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001 (EPIRA) law, the Philippine Grid and Distribution Code, and the Western Visayas Power Infrastructure.

The first Energy-101 lecture concluded with a closing message from Provincial Administrator Raul N. Banias.
