The Department of Energy- Energy Utilization Management Bureau (DOE-EUMB), Department of Energy - Visayas Field Office (DOE-VFO) and the Iloilo Provincial Government, Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office - Energy Efficiency and Conservation Desk (PGENRO-EEC Desk), successfully conducted a province-wide Local Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plan Workshop (LEECP) last February 18-20, 2025 at the Seda Atria, Iloilo City.
Overall, 43/43 municipalities in the Province of Iloilo have successfully submitted a draft of their LEECP, a first-ever achievement in the country.
This 3-day training and workshop, with EECOs, EEC Focal Persons, and Technical Personnel from all 42 Municipalities and 1 component city present, serves as a testament to Iloilo Province’s commitment to move forward to an energy-sufficient future for the Ilonggos.
The Modules include:
Module 1: Retrofitting of Air-conditioning Units.
Module 2: Retrofitting of Lighting System.
Module 3: Installation of Solar PV Rooftop System.
Module 4: Solar P System Inventory
Dr. Raul N. Banias, Provincial Administrator and Hon. Rolando “Rolly” B. Distura, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member, and Iloilo Province’s very own Energy Champion; gave their message of encouragement and support.
