The Iloilo Provincial Government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening basic education as it took part in the San Dionisio Educational Summit on January 29, 2026 at the Municipal Civic Center.
Provincial Administrator Raul N. Banias, representing Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr., underscored the province’s active role in supporting local education initiatives, particularly in improving literacy and learning outcomes.
Banias conveyed the governor’s assurance to sustain and further expand province-backed programs such as BES Basa Program and the Proof of Concept Initiative, implemented in close coordination with local government units, schools, and the Synergeia Foundation, Inc.
He stressed that while national agencies provide policy direction, real progress in education depends on strong local leadership, empowered Local School Boards, well-trained teachers, sufficient learning materials, and broad community support.
The province’s participation highlighted its continuing partnership with towns like San Dionisio, reinforcing Iloilo’s commitment to ensure that no learner and no school is left behind.
