
University of San Agustin research faculty Jake Ledesma with accounting assistant Tracy Anne Marie Mondres received two checks with a total amount of Php 400,000 intended for their research project on indigenous cultural communities in Panay.
The project is part of Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr.’s initiative of tapping various state universities and colleges (SUCs) and higher education institutions (HEIs) in the city and province of Iloilo to advance research, development, and innovation.
The collaboration aims to leverage the expertise of the academe in various fields such as science and technology, agriculture and fisheries, and public health, among others for joint research projects and knowledge sharing to attain the social justice agenda of the Defensor administration under his development thrust MoRProGRes ILOILO or Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally Competitive and Resilient Province of Iloilo.
Releasing the checks in behalf of Gov. Defensor were Executive Assistant Atty. Artem Ron Raymundo, Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) research staff Soljane Catague, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) acting head Rani Melvi Cuarte, PPDO chief Valme Lujan, and Operations Center head Jose Noel Cabaluna.
