The Iloilo Provincial Government is moving to expand specialized maternal and child healthcare with a proposed two-storey Mother and Child Facility at the Iloilo Provincial Hospital - IPH.
A consultative meeting today led by Cong. Lorenz Defensor and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, tackled the project’s design and technical specifications, with inputs from the Provincial Engineering Office, the Office of the Hospital Management Officer, the Department of Health, and the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Planned to have an 87-bed capacity, the facility will house pediatrics and OB-GYN services, delivery and operating rooms, an emergency room, and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The project is expected to decongest wards and improve access to safe childbirth and newborn care.
The Iloilo Provincial Hospital is the only Level II hospital run by the provincial government, serving as a key referral center for patients across Iloilo.
