The Iloilo provincial government Technical Working Group (TWG) convened yesterday to craft the guidelines and criteria for the upcoming Search for the Most Outstanding City/Municipal Fire Stations in the province.
The Search was born out of Provincial Ordinance No. 2025-335 sponsored by Board Member June Mondejar who is the chairperson of the Committee on Public Order and Security.
It was designed to evaluate local fire stations and incentivize their innovative approaches on fire prevention, protection, and suppression leading to safer communities.
The competing local fire stations will be assessed based on their operational effectiveness, administrative capability, community engagement, and innovation and best practices.
There will be two categories: Category A composed of Passi City and the first class municipalities and Category B shall be composed of second to fourth class municipalities.
The top three winners for Category A will receive the following cash prizes:
🥇CHAMPION - P250,000
🥈1ST RUNNER-UP - P200,000
🥉2ND RUNNER-UP - P150,000
Category B winners will get:
🥇CHAMPION - P200,000
🥈1ST RUNNER-UP - P150,000
🥉2ND RUNNER-UP - P100,000
The TWG is composed of representatives from the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-Iloilo), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Iloilo), Iloilo Police Provincial Office, Public Information and Community Affairs Office, Liga ng mga Barangay Iloilo, League of Municipalities of the Philippines Iloilo, Barangay Tanod Federation Iloilo, Federation of Iloilo Fire Brigade, and a representative from the Civil Society Organization duly accredited by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
