The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has distributed a total of 25 laptops to three local government units (LGUs) in Iloilo Province under its Project ACTIVATE initiative.
The beneficiary municipalities are Janiuay, which received eight laptops; Cabatuan, with eight laptops; and Badiangan, which received nine laptops.
The laptops are intended to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by helping them promote and market their local products through digital platforms and online marketplaces.
DICT Undersecretary Leandro Aguirre personally led the turnover ceremony and emphasized the importance of empowering local entrepreneurs to participate in the digital economy.
He said the equipment will enable MSMEs to expand their market reach by utilizing digital platforms such as TikTok, Shopee, Lazada, and other online channels.
