Revisiting BDCP Parameters

REVISITING BDCP PARAMETERS

The Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), chaired by Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., convened this morning to revisit the parameters of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP).

In attendance were Provincial Administrator Raul Banias; Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) Director PCol. Bayani Razalan; Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Iloilo Head Nicolas Gomez; Liga ng mga Barangay President Amalia Victoria Debuque; Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iloilo Provincial Director Carmelo Orbista; representatives of Second District Board Member June Mondejar (Chair of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Peace and Order); League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Iloilo President Mayor Suzette Mamon; and other PADAC staff.

The meeting focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination, harmonizing validation procedures, and addressing concerns in the monitoring and declaration of drug-cleared barangays under the BDCP.

Earlier, PDEA reported that only one of Iloilo’s 1,721 barangays remains uncleared of illegal drugs -- a milestone that underscores the province’s progress in its anti-drug campaign.
