The Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) strengthened its campaign against illegal drugs during a recent meeting, bringing together representatives from national government agencies, provincial offices, and local Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs).
Presided over by Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul Banias on behalf of Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., the meeting tackled the current drug situation in Iloilo Province and discussed measures to enhance prevention, enforcement, rehabilitation, and community-based interventions.
Council members shared updates on anti-drug programs and emphasized the need for stronger coordination among stakeholders to address drug-related concerns and curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in communities.
The meeting also reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to peace, public safety, and community resilience through Executive Order No. 111, Series of 2025, which institutionalized the Provincial Community Defense Action for MoRProGRes Iloilo (4K).
Under the framework, government agencies, local government units, and communities are encouraged to adopt a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach in addressing emerging security challenges, including illegal drugs.
