
Colonel Nhel Richard Patricio, the newly appointed commander of the 301st Infantry (Bayanihan) Brigade of the Philippine Army, paid a courtesy visit to Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. today, accompanied by outgoing commander Brigadier General Michael Samson.
Colonel Patricio, an Ilonggo native and a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) "Sambisig" Class of 1991, officially took command of the brigade in a turnover ceremony held at Camp General Adriano Hernandez in Dingle, Iloilo last month.
Brigadier General Samson expressed his gratitude to Governor Defensor and the Iloilo Provincial Government (IPG) for their unwavering support of the brigade’s mission throughout his tenure. In response, Governor Defensor thanked General Samson for his dedicated service, acknowledging his contributions to regional security and peace-building efforts.
The leadership transition underscores the Philippine Army’s commitment to maintaining peace and strengthening territorial defense across Panay and Guimaras Islands.
Governor Defensor reaffirmed the Iloilo Provincial Government’s strong partnership with the military, recognizing the brigade’s crucial role in ensuring security, disaster response, and community development efforts throughout the province.
