The Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Provincial Task Force on Road Safety (PTFRS), is spearheading a proactive education campaign targeting high school students in accident-prone areas across the province.
The Technical Working Group (TWG) of the PTFRS recently convened a preparatory and planning meeting to finalize the conduct of road safety lectures and free Theoretical Driving Seminars, specifically for junior and senior high school students, a demographic identified as among the most vulnerable in road-related incidents.
This initiative forms part of the Provincial Government’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of its constituents, particularly in hotspot municipalities with high road crash incidences based on data from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
The program will be rolled out in close collaboration with the Department of Education – Division of Iloilo, which has pledged full support and is also exploring the integration of road safety topics into the basic education curriculum.
