'Hinun-Anon Sa Barangay' Reaches Island Communities In Carles

HINUN ANON SA BARANGAY REACHES ISLAND COMMUNITIES IN CARLES

The Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Public Information and Community Affairs Office (PICAO), brought its flagship grassroots dialogue, Hinun-anon sa Barangay, to the island barangays of Lantangan and Gabi in Carles, Iloilo.

The forum, participated in by local officials and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), served as a platform for direct engagement with residents, allowing them to hear firsthand the wide range of social welfare and agricultural programs available to them.

Representing the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO Province Of Iloilo), Social Welfare Officer IV Ann Rapunzel Ganzon shared the province’s services for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, youth, and individuals in crisis situations. Her presentation emphasized how the provincial programs are designed to uplift vulnerable sectors and ensure that no Ilonggo is left behind.

Meanwhile, Jude Jay Sotomil, Agriculture Technician II of the Iloilo Provincial Agriculture Office (PAGRO), introduced programs focused on marine protection and blue crab and seaweed cultivation tailored to support the livelihoods of island communities. He encouraged residents to approach the Provincial Government for technical assistance, reaffirming that support is always within reach.

Participants expressed gratitude for the visit, citing how such direct outreach efforts bridge the gap between government services and remote barangays.

Through Hinun-anon sa Barangay, the Iloilo Provincial Government continues to empower communities by bringing essential information, services, and opportunities right to the people wherever they may be.
