Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr. made a presentation of the Province of Iloilo's entry to the Galing Pook Awards -- Mobilizing Communities through People-Centered Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) Movement towards a Sustainable Sanitation in the Province of Iloilo.
Galing Pook validators Dr. Jose Rene Gayo, Miguel Rene Dominguez and Adonis Caballero listened to Gov. Defensor's presentation with assistance from the personnel of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) headed by Dr. Maria Socorro Quiñon.
Last year, the Department of Health (DOH) declared Iloilo province to be the first Local Government Unit (LGU) in Western Visayas to achieve the ZOD status.
