The students, faculty, and staff of Narciso Ayalin Integrated School at Brgy. Aglalana, Passi City expressed their gratitude to Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. for funding the construction of their school’s multi-purpose covered gym.

Governor Defensor led the inauguration of the P2.9 million school facility today, September 8, 2025. He was joined by Vice Governor Lee Ann Debuque, the municipal officials led by Mayor Stephen Palmares, barangay officials, and DepEd representatives.

Principal Dr. Emilie L. Padernal said the new infrastructure not only serves as a venue for school events but it has also turned into a sports facility.

“We have used it for several times already – from graduation ceremonies, culminating activities, to sports fest. Last week, we had our intramurals. That shows the impact of this project to our community,” he said.

Defensor said this infrastructure project signified the provincial government’s commitment to improving the infrastructure of public schools.

This also highlights the province’s initiative of taking full responsibility of education, despite it not a devolved function of local government units. The governor said his administration will maximize its Special Education Fund (SEF) to address the problem of classroom shortage in public schools.

“We are committed to education right from the very start, whether the responsibility is ours or not,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Palmares thanked Defensor for the key infrastructure projects that the provincial government has given his city since 2016 which transformed the lives of the Passinhons. (Capitol news)
