SOLAR POWERED DESALINATION WATER SYSTEM INAUGURATED IN SITIO DANAO DANAO CONCEPCION

Sitio Danao-Danao in Barangay Polopiña, Concepcion, witnessed the inauguration and turnover of its new Solar Powered Potable Water System.

This project, worth 12.8 million pesos, was funded by a World Bank grant through the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project, marking a first for the province.

The innovative system, which boasts a maximum capacity of 11,000 liters per day, utilizes reverse osmosis technology to transform seawater into potable water. This not only provides a vital resource but also offers a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for the community's water needs.

Over 213 families in Sitio Danao-Danao will benefit from the new system, which delivers clean water at an affordable price of Php 6.00 per 20-liter container. This initiative addresses the urgent need for potable water while ensuring its affordability, thereby significantly enhancing the quality of life for residents.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul N. Banias, Executive Assistant Niel “Beng” Tupas III representing Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr., Provincial Engineer Romeo C. Andig, and personnel from the Provincial Planning and Development Office.

The event featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and the oath-taking of the newly appointed officers of the Danao-Danao Solar Powered Potable Water Association (DASOPPWAS), led by PA Dr. Banias.
