Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr., together with Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul N. Banias, and Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) head Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle P. Buyco, Jr., released a check amounting to P1.5 million to Brgy. Lo-ong, Concepcion for the Installation of Hybrid On/Off Grid PV Solar Powered System at the Concepcion Resiliency Hub.
The amount is sourced from Gov. Defensor’s renewable energy (RE) subsidy fund. The check was received by barangay captain Rizalino A. Panes Jr. and treasurer Elna Nawanao as facilitated by the PGENRO-Energy Efficiency and Conservation Desk representatives Rey Victor Garin and Leiden Lyka V. Anonoy.
The RE fund transfer serves as a financial aid to local government units for the completion of their proposed renewable energy projects – a main component to ensure compliance with the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) under Republic Act 11285 known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act of 2019.
