MGEN RENEWABLES EYES 120 MW SOLAR PROJECT IN CONCEPCION

Representatives from MGEN Renewable Energy, Inc. (MGEN Renewables) met with Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. today to discuss their proposal of developing a 120-MW ground-mounted solar power facility in Barangays Nipa and Lo-ong in the Municipality of Concepcion.

Through its subsidiary LagunaSol Corporation, MGEN will put up a facility in a 135.40-hectare area which will be interconnected with the NGCP Concepcion 138-kV substation.

Beyond increasing the province’s energy supply, this project is also expected to contribute over a million pesos in tax which will significantly boost Concepcion’s economy.

Present during the meeting are Janjan Ian Gustilo and Santos Barril Jr. of MGEN Renewables; Via Ayson of Green Dev Solutions; Provincial Administrator Raul Banias; PGENRO chief Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle Buyco, Jr.; and PGENRO Energy Efficiency and Conservation Desk head Rey Garin.

MGEN Renewables is the renewable energy arm of Meralco Power Corporation (MGEN) which is a subsidiary of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
