The Iloilo Provincial Government through the Provincial Population Office (PPO) turned-over the checks, amounting to Php 5 million each, to the municipality of San Dionisio and City of Passi for the establishment of the Family and Youth Development Center (FYDC).
Gov. Arthur R. Defensor, Jr., with Provincial Population Officer Atty. Ruel Von D. Superio and Provincial Engineer Romeo C. Andig led the turnover of checks to Mayor Darwin E. Bajada of San Dionisio and PPO IV Ma. Theresa P. Buena of Passi City, with their respective municipal/city treasurers.
The FYDC is a two-storey infrastructure priority project of the lloilo Provincial Government, in line with its MoRProGRes development mantra, intended to house the major programs and projects of the Local Government Units for the Family and Youth, through the Iloilo Provincial Population Office in collaboration with the Municipal/City Governments and their respective Sangguniang Kabataan and Local Youth Development Offices.
The facility will serve as a venue in the conduct of Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC) Sessions, training site for youth and youth-related programs and other population and development programs and activities in the localities, provide an office space for the Population Program Officer/s assigned in the municipality/city and their respective Barangay Service Point Officers, and a space for the Local Youth Development Office, Office/Session Hall of the Sangguniang Kabataan, and Local Youth Development Council Office.
The FYDC Project is an innovation to the Responsible Parenthood and Adolescent Health and Youth Development Programs of the Province of Iloilo implemented through the Provincial Population Office.
