Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr., together with Fourth District Board Member Rolando B. Distura and the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) - Energy Efficiency and Conservation Desk headed by Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle P. Buyco, Jr., released checks amounting to P1.5 million each to Brgy. Bagongbong, Dueñas; Brgy. Ilaya 1st, Dumangas; and Brgy. P. D. Monfort South, Dumangas for the Installation of Hybrid On/Off Grid PV Solar Powered System.
The amount is sourced from Gov. Arthur R. Defensor’s renewable energy (RE) subsidy fund. The checks were received by the barangay captains and treasurers as facilitated by the PGENRO-EEC Desk representatives Rey Victor Garin and Leiden Lyka V. Anonoy.
The RE fund transfer serves as a financial aid to local government units for the completion of their proposed renewable energy projects – a main component to ensure compliance with the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) under Republic Act 11285 known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act of 2019.
