Officers of the Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA), led by members of its Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System, conducted a benchmarking visit to the Iloilo Provincial Government as part of a five-day learning exchange aimed at strengthening GAD mainstreaming in their operations.
The delegation paid a courtesy visit to Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. and met with Provincial Administrator Raul Banias before getting an orientation on from Iloilo’s systems, policies, and service delivery models.
Recognized as a local learning hub for gender responsive governance, the Province of Iloilo showcased its best practices in institutionalizing GAD planning, budgeting, and monitoring.
GADIloilo focals highlighted how these systems translate policy into action, expanding access to essential services, strengthening client focused service delivery, and ensuring that development programs are inclusive, responsive, and leave no sector behind.
