The Province of Iloilo has been officially recognized in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Achievement Champions and Exemplar (ACE) under SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation for the project entitled Zero to Limpyo Iloilo: Movement for a Province-wide ZOD during a virtual recognition ceremony held on December 19, 2025.
The award highlights Iloilo’s strong commitment to ensuring sustainable sanitation practices across the province.
Through a people-centered approach involving multisectoral collaboration, Iloilo has demonstrated remarkable progress in the area of environmental sanitation and hygiene leading to positive health outcomes and overall quality of life. The program was also awarded as one of the Galing Pook Awards Winner in 2023.
The SDG ACE Awards celebrate local governments that lead in accelerating the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Being named an SDG 6 Champion positions Iloilo as a model for other provinces striving to strengthen environmental sanitation services.
The Province of Iloilo would like to express gratitude for this recognition, emphasizing that the award reflects the dedication of our local leaders and community stakeholders from one component city and 42 municipalities and our partners who continue to champion sustainable sanitation practices.
The Provincial Government of Iloilo reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining and scaling up programs that promote environmental sanitation, access to safe water resources, enhance service delivery, and ensure that no community is left behind.
