PHO BOOSTS EMERGENCY READINESS OF HEALTH WORKERS YOUTH VOLUNTEERS

The Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), recently rolled out two vital emergency response trainings aimed at strengthening local health services and empowering grassroots responders.

The PHO conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for the Rural Health Unit (RHU) personnel of Igbaras, Iloilo. This hands-on training focused on equipping municipal health workers with the knowledge and skills to respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest, choking, and trauma cases.

In partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), it also organized a Community First Aid and Mass CPR Training for members of the Dueñas Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Dueñas Youth Drive. The training provided essential life-saving techniques and practical emergency response skills to youth volunteers and local responders.

Both training activities reflect the Iloilo Provincial Government’s commitment to proactive public health strategies and capacity-building at the local level.

These client-focused programs underscore the leadership of Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. in pushing for a more empowered and health-resilient Iloilo, where every responder is ready to serve and save lives.
