DEFENSOR DIRECTS 2026 PRIORITIES IN FIRST CHIEF OF OFFICE MEETING

Marking the start of 2026, Gov. Toto Defensor convened the chiefs of offices today to direct his initial priorities for the provincial government’s programs and projects for this year.

The executive department reviewed the 2025 budget utiization and performance to guarantee financial stability as the provincial government transitions into another fiscal year.

With the province of Iloilo celebrating its grandest festival of festivals, the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, this upcoming January 24, the governor directed the department heads to ensure a seamless conduct of the event.

Coinciding with the Zero Waste Month, the provincial government will conduct the Limpyo Iloilo Environmental Stakeholders Summit on January 28 to advance its solid waste management program and province-wide cleanup drive.

The discussions extended into a working lunch, with Governor Defensor presenting his plan to revise his “Turista sa Barangay” program, with focus on making the “Kabanwahanan” a community venue to showcase the province’s “Fun, Foodie, Friendly" tourism events and activities.
