A coordination meeting was recently held between key agencies, including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), the Provincial Hospital Management Office (HMO), Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO), Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), and the contractor to discuss the construction of a P22-million medical waste incinerator at Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial Hospital in Lambunao, Iloilo.
Designed to manage medical waste in compliance with strict environmental standards, the facility is expected to reduce the hospital’s reliance on external waste disposal methods.
Once operational, the incinerator will improve infection control, lessen the environmental impact of hospital operations, and support the province’s goal of sustainable healthcare practices.
This initiative reflects the Iloilo Provincial Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance public health infrastructure while safeguarding the environment.
