The Provincial Circular Economy (CE) Core Team led by Provincial Administrator Raul Banias convened with representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Philippines to review updates on ongoing provincial sustainability initiatives.
One of the highlights is on the Weave Out Waste (WOW) Limpyo Iloilo program which is supported by The Coca-Cola Foundation. This upcycling program integrates circular economy principles in transforming post-election waste into marketable consumer goods.
The team reviewed updates on the WOW Limpyo Iloilo Hub which is expected to break ground in October and the proposed Circular Economy Ordinance of the province of Iloilo which is a huge step in institutionalizing sustainable waste management efforts province-wide.
Coordination efforts were also made for the upcoming Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) workshop tailored for local government units across Iloilo and the visit of representatives from TCCF Global in Iloilo.
