The Iloilo Provincial Capitol employees brought joy and talent through The Merryland Concert as part of its Christmas Party celebration today, December 17, 2025 at the Capitol lobby.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. praised the spirit and competitiveness of the Capitol employees during the dance contest, noting that the same drive brought home several awards for the province of Iloilo and enabled the provincial government to successfully implement impactful programs for the Ilonggos.
“Competitive gid ya ang mga taga Capitol...After six years in service, I realized that this is the strength of the provincial government - the competitiveness and the spirit that translate into practical results for our programs and projects,” Defensor said.
The governor is looking forward to another successful year for the provincial government in 2026.
Meanwhile, the event was made even more amusing with the participation of various Capitol department heads and Provincial Board Members as they showcased their incredible vocal and dance prowess.
The Capitol employees also proved that their talents extend beyond the halls of government as they performed as a live band during the dance contest representing their groups - Candy Yellow Team, Misty Lilac Team, Baby Pink Team, Sky Blue Team, and Minty Green Team.
The Merryland Concert is a celebration of a fruitful year for the province of Iloilo and a recognition of the hard work and dedication of the Iloilo provincial government employees.
