
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. said the 2025 Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan will be a “cultural stage of municipalities” where they will showcase their fun, foodie, and friendly offerings.
Defensor led the 2025 Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan launching, press conference, and costume exhibit on December 22, 2024 at the SM City Northpoint Activity Center.
He was joined by Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. President Allan Ryan Tan, First Lady Michelle Defensor, Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, and the municipal mayors of the participating tribes.
The governor said that the Iloilo provincial government is developing the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan to be a display window of the festivals of the municipalities.
“The Kasadyahan is the cultural stage of our municipalities. Our municipalities are fun; they are foodie and they are friendly. It’s really a mix of culture, arts, history, culture, and tradition,” Defensor said.
Nine competing tribes will showcase their municipal festivals in the upcoming Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan on January 25, 2025 which is hosted by the Iloilo provincial government in partnership with the Iloilo City government and the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc.
These are the Banaag Festival of Anilao, Kaing Festival of Leon, Tawili Festival of San Rafael, Hirinugyaw Suguidadonay Festival of Calinog, Tinuom Festival of Cabatuan, Cry of Jelicuon Festival of New Lucena, Tangyan Festival of Igbaras, Haw-as Festival of Dumangas, and Tultugan Festival of Maasin.
The governor added that the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan also aims to boost the tourism and investment potential of the city and province of Iloilo.
