The Iloilo Provincial Library and Archives held an outreach program in Barangay Palaca, Miag-ao, on October 30, 2024, aimed at promoting literacy and supporting early childhood education in the community.

A key part of the program was a storytelling session conducted at the Barangay Daycare Center, designed to introduce children to reading and strengthen early literacy skills.

To further support education, the library donated children’s books to local schools, including Miag-ao West Central Elementary School and Palaca Damilisan National High School.

In partnership with the Buddha’s Light Association Young Adults Division (BLIA YAD), the program also distributed school supplies and snacks to the daycare children.

BLIA YAD volunteers organized educational games, providing an engaging environment that encouraged both learning and play.

The Iloilo Provincial Library plans to continue and expand its outreach initiatives in the future, reaching more communities in the province.
