The Province of Iloilo and the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Iloilo have signed a Consolidated Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen sports development in public schools across the province.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. and Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ruby Therese P. Almencion signed the agreement to combine existing partnerships between the Provincial Government and DepEd schools into one unified sports development program.
Under the agreement, the Iloilo Provincial Government, through its Center for Sports and Physical Fitness (CSPF), will provide technical and logistical support to school sports officials, coaches, trainers, and student-athletes.
The Provincial Government will also provide financial assistance for the training and participation of varsity athletes through the Province's Special Education Fund.
The program also aims to discover, develop, and keep talented Ilonggo athletes by creating an Outstanding Athletes Program. Student-athletes will also receive training from qualified coaches and trainers of the Center for Sports and Physical Fitness.
The partnership aims to build a stronger and more organized sports program in schools, helping young Ilonggo athletes improve their skills and prepare for local, regional, and national competitions.
