The Iloilo Provincial Government has reinforced its commitment to building a future anchored on strong human capital as it concluded a three-day training under the Bulig Eskwela sang Probinsya (BESProbins) Program, preparing schools for the 2026 implementation of the Career Guidance Instructional Module (CGIM).
Held in two batches, the workshop gathered school heads, guidance counselors, and secondary teachers who completed the activities of six developmental modules for Grades 7 to 12.
Facilitated by experts from the Department of Education and the University of the Philippines Visayas, the training ensured that implementers are fully equipped to deliver structured, relevant, and future-focused guidance to learners.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., who authored Republic Act No. 11206 institutionalizing career guidance nationwide, has long emphasized that human resource is important.
“Our human resource is the most important asset,” Governor Defensor noting why the province continue to invest heavily in education and capacity-building.
What distinguishes Iloilo’s CGIM is its strategic alignment of student career decision-making with both national and local development priorities, enabling learners to make informed choices that also strengthen the province’s long-term growth.
It will also help them understand how their choices contribute to the country’s long-term vision of a “matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay” for all Filipinos under AmBisyon Natin 2040.
All secondary schools in the province are expected to implement the module by 2026.
