DMW PESO ASSIST RETURNING OFW TEACHERS WITH FINANCIAL AID FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL ROLES

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO - Province of Iloilo) are helping Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) re-enter Philippine classrooms through the “Sa ‘Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir” (SPIMS) program.

DMW Region 6 Director Glenda Aligonza awarded PHP 20,000 in financial assistance to each of the 33 returning teachers, aimed at helping them settle into public school roles or start small businesses.

Provincial Administrator Raul Banias thanked DMW for the assistance.

"Thanks to DMW and to RD Glenda Aligonza for this great opportunity for our LET passers teachers who used to work abroad as OFW to come back and be reintegrated to DepEd sa Public School Teachers," said Banias.

The SPIMS, supported by PESO under Officer-in-Charge Cynthia Dario, is a reintegration program and a collaborative effort between DMW, OWWA, DOLE, and the Department of Education which targets OFW-LET (Licensure Examination for Teachers) passers, offering them a pathway to employment in public schools as teachers.
