The Iloilo Provincial Government reaffirmed its commitment to improving learning outcomes as it joined local officials, educators, parents, and community stakeholders during the Bingawan Education Summit 2026 on weekend where participants crafted a unified roadmap to address the municipality's education needs and strengthen support for every learner.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias assured the municipality of the Capitol's continued support in advancing education programs and interventions. He highlighted the growing success of the BES BASA literacy program, which began in Bingawan and has now expanded to 27 local government unit (LGU) partners across Iloilo this school year.
Banias said the program has shown encouraging results in addressing learning poverty and improving learners' reading and comprehension skills, underscoring the value of sustained collaboration among local governments, schools, and communities.
Third District Board Members Jason Gonzales and Mark Palabrica also pledged continued legislative and policy support for education initiatives.
Gonzales committed the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to champion measures that will strengthen school programs and empower teachers, while Palabrica emphasized that the Capitol remains an active partner in realizing Bingawan's vision of providing quality education for every child.
Hosted under the municipality's "Bingawan sa Matatag at Masayang Pagtuturo at Pagkatuto (BMMPP)" framework, the summit brought together education leaders and stakeholders to identify priority programs and develop concrete action plans for implementation.
Discussions focused on improving literacy, expanding learner support services, addressing classroom shortages, promoting child protection and mental health, and enhancing school safety.
By aligning the efforts of the Provincial Government, the local government, DepEd, and community partners, the summit reinforced a shared commitment to ensure that every Bingawanon learner has greater opportunities to succeed.
